LEONA VALLEY, Los Angeles County — The volunteer-run Leona Valley Improvement Association (LVIA) is inviting residents to get involved in local activities and preserve shared community facilities.
The association says it was founded in 1951 and continues to operate a community building at 8367 Elizabeth Lake Road. The site also contains the Lee Rackett Horse Arena and Heritage Park, which includes a museum and a 1915 one-room schoolhouse.
Meetings, membership and rentals
LVIA advertises general meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. For November 2026 that would ordinarily fall on November 19, although residents should verify the month’s actual meeting announcement before attending.
The nonprofit relies on volunteers for community events, grounds maintenance, meetings and local history. Its website provides a membership application and an inquiry form for building rentals. Submitting an inquiry does not confirm a room reservation or guarantee availability.
Residents can find contact information, membership rules and newsletters at the association’s official site. The organization is private and volunteer-run, not a city government office.
